The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out search operations at 12 locations in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday in connection with an ongoing terror infiltration case.
– The raids targeted overground workers (OGWs) and hybrid terrorists suspected of aiding infiltration from across the border.
– Searches were conducted at the hideouts of terror sympathizers and cadres who allegedly provided logistical support.
– The operation was carried out in coordination with local police and security forces.
The case, registered under RC-04/2024/NIA/JMU, was initiated on October 24, 2024, following intelligence reports of terrorists infiltrating India from Pakistan-based groups Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).
These infiltrators reportedly crossed into Indian territory via the International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC).
Investigations revealed that local OGWs and terror associates helped infiltrators by providing shelter, food, money, and logistics.
- November 2023: The NIA conducted similar searches, seizing incriminating documents and evidence from suspected operatives.
- March 2024: This latest round of raids is aimed at further dismantling terrorist networks and tracking down their local facilitators.
The NIA is continuing its probe, and further arrests or recoveries are expected in the coming days.
